About us

Himalayan Nature Club is a Dalhousie (Himachal Pradesh) based pioneer organization which is working for the cause of nature awareness and education. This club was formed with the basic intention of increasing awareness about nature through fun, adventure and educational programmes. Apart from organizing short nature trails and trekking cum nature education camps in the Himalayas, we are also involved in a small way in various educational as well as conservation oriented research projects in different parts of India. We also collaborate with the forest department, etc., and other Non-Government Organizations who work with same intention as our organization.

Decades of aggressive development policies pursued by both developed and developing countries have finally achieved development at all levels, but not without a price. Depleting natural resources, environmental pollution, climatic changes, etc., are some of the issues that challenge all nations now. It is time we thought of more sustainable means and ways of development without giving up development. As individuals, we can all contribute to sustainable means by adopting eco friendly ways in our day to day lives. Like...

While promoting flora and fauna related awareness and conservation, our programs is also striving to safeguard livelihood and the alternative development options for local communities.

Target audience

Our audience target mostly includes the younger generation comprising of both school and college students, who going ahead in future are most likely to be affected directly or indirectly by various environmental issues that our Earth is faced with.

In order to ensure maximum participation from everyone, we organize nature related Photography Exhibitions, Drawing competitions, Quiz Competitions, Slide Shows, etc. in schools, colleges and public places.

Additionally, we organize bird-watching trips, star-gazing activities, nature education camps in various parts of India and conduct campaigns primarily for nature awareness and conservation activities.

Core Activities

The organization works with the aim to educate more and more people in the field of bio-diversity and conservation of flora and fauna. We work very closely with schools, colleges and educational institutions to create a basic awareness among the younger generation.

• Resource support for Environment Education activities carried out in school.
• Facilitate tree plantation activities.
• Publish booklets, brochures and e-newsletter for awareness on various topics related to Nature and it conservation.
• Campaign for sustainable agriculture by encouraging organic and socially responsible farming.
• Emphasize the need for minimizing pollution by creating awareness about environment and nature.
• Undertake nature awareness, education and conservation related research projects in various parts of India.
• Organize nature study camps and eco-tours for nature education and awareness.
